Iraq’s Mainstream Media Highlights the EBS Oilfield Project

PublishTime:2025-07-10

In July, Al Mirbad TV (also known as South Iraq Radio & TV Company), one of Iraq’s most influential media platforms, aired a series of in-depth feature reports on the EBS Oilfield. Broadcast simultaneously via television and social media, the coverage drew widespread attention across Iraqi society and generated a strong positive social impact.

The report was produced by Al Mirbad’s on-site journalist team, who conducted field interviews at the EBS Oilfield. Interviewees included key Iraqi representatives such as Mr. Firas, Chief Representative of the Middle Oil Company (MdOC) at EBS; Mr. Zaid, Chairman of the Joint Management Committee (JMC); Dr. Mohammed, Chairman of the Surface Technical Subcommittee; and Dr. Haider, Chairman of the Subsurface Technical Subcommittee. The guests provided a comprehensive review of the oilfield’s development journey and gave high praise to the project’s recent achievements in reserve enhancement, production breakthroughs, green development, and corporate social responsibility.

During the interview, Mr. Firas, MdOC’s Chief Representative, commended Zhenhua Oil for its commitment to improving local infrastructure—particularly its contributions to education through the construction of schools. He emphasized that the opening of the Zhenhua Hope School has created valuable educational opportunities for local children, further highlighting the company’s responsible image as a corporate citizen devoted to improving community well-being.

This in-depth coverage by Al Mirbad TV not only reflects the keen attention and strong recognition from Iraqi mainstream media regarding Zhenhua Oil’s progress in Iraq, but also helps foster a favorable public opinion climate for expanding the project’s social impact and deepening China-Iraq energy cooperation.

Looking forward, the EBS Oilfield project will continue to uphold an open, pragmatic, and professional approach, strengthen its international communication capabilities, and consistently share the story of Chinese enterprise development in Iraq—promoting a corporate image that is reliable, green, and mutually beneficial.
