Beijing, May 20th — The 29th World Gas Conference (WGC2024) opened at the China National Convention Center, marking a historic milestone as the event is held in China for the first time in its nearly 100-year history. Under the theme “Energizing a Sustainable Future,” the conference attracted broad global attention from across the energy sector.
As a key platform for Zhenhua Oil’s strategic operations in North Africa, NPIC Egypt was invited to take part in the Africa Energy & Gas Forum, where it engaged in high-level discussions with officials from African governments, representatives of major energy companies, and international organizations. These dialogues focused on exploring new avenues for China–Africa cooperation in the development of natural gas, reflecting the responsibility and long-term vision of Chinese energy enterprises in promoting global clean energy initiatives.
At the forum, Mr. Sun Bao, General Manager of NPIC, delivered a keynote speech on behalf of Zhenhua Oil titled “The Role and Opportunities for Chinese Enterprises in Africa’s Natural Gas Market.” In his address, Mr. Sun outlined NPIC’s recent practical efforts in resource acquisition, localized operations, and collaborative frameworks across African markets. He proposed a new cooperation model grounded in “Resource Development along with Industrial Synergy, Localized Operation, and Cultural Trust”, emphasizing a holistic approach to clean energy partnerships.
NPIC’s success has been driven by its close engagement with local governments and enterprises, the development of strong regional cooperation networks, and a focus on operational excellence through local talent development and optimized management systems.
